Go ahead, Natalie.

Iron Chef

Do you enjoy watching chefs compete to create the best dishes in the world? If so, then you will love watching the show “Iron Chef” on the Food Network. This show takes the best chefs and pits them against each other, so they can impress a panel that includes three judges.

Whenever I want to watch an exciting show on the Food Network, I am always sure to tune in to the “Iron Chef” on my Satellite TV with direct tv ppv. This show really depicts the thrill of cooking gourmet meals under pressure. I am always amazed by the creativity of chefs on this show. If you want to see dishes that you have probably never heard of being created, then definitely tune in to the “Iron Chef.”

The show “Iron Chef” centers around the idea that every meal has a secret ingredient. This secret ingredient is what moves meals from being excellent to unforgettable. It is a thrill to watch chefs create their meals using what they believe to be a secret ingredient. Sometimes the judges absolutely adore such dishes, and sometimes they can’t stand the dishes!

I like this show, because the judges always offer a sharp critique of the dishes. Rarely do the judges absolutely adore a dish. When they do, it is a shocking surprise. If you want a food show with excitement, then watch the “Iron Chef.”

I don’t know how it happened but my darling husband, our daughter, and I find ourselves in the position of being cooking television show addicts. This is a serious malady because I’m now assessing my motley assortment of pots and pans with a critical eye. I’m a frugal shopper so I won’t buy shiny new pots and pans unless I have cookware coupons.

Life Changes

How did I get to the point in life where I aspire to a kitchen that looks like Kitchen Stadium on Iron Chef? Actually, it’s pretty funny because my husband, whose idea of cooking is frying baloney (I know. Isn’t that horrible?) now pays close attention to what Tyler Florence cooks.

Hey, it would be great if he decided he wanted to take over the kitchen. I certainly wouldn’t complain.

I like cooking, and I like saving money. I mean a girl has to have room in her budget for mani-pedis every week, right? With Cooking Enthusiast coupons you can afford the spa and your cooking habit.

Takeaway Truth

I believe to be true what American writer Harriet Van Horne said: “Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all.”

I watched some of the Emmy Awards last night when DH was disgusted with the Cowboys-Giants game. I know it’s heresy, but I was rooting for Eli Manning and the Giants. Don’t tell my Darling Husband though. Anyway, none of the shows I like most won awards.

What’s wrong with these people when Burn Notice wasn’t nominated for anything and BSG, RIP, was only nominated in a couple of technical categories? Not to mention Leverage, In Plain Sight (which will probably be canceled), Eureka, and a few other cross-genre series. Cross-genre is the kiss of death I guess when it comes to television awards. Hey, and what about Top Chef?

Monday Lineup

Dancing With The Stars bows in tonight. Can’t wait to see the Iron Chef kick up his heels. I suspect he’ll be pretty good. No offense intended, but the comic relief must be former Senator Tom DeLay. His participation is a stunner. Can’t imagine he’s anything but first dismissal fodder, and I’m not prejudiced against the guy or anything. He just doesn’t seem like ballroom material to me.

Then there’s Castle with the fabulous Fillion. That’s Nathan Fillion in case you don’t know. I’ve adored him since 2 Guys, A Girl, & A Pizza. Followed him in Firefly, Buffy, and the defunct Drive. He’s great in the movie Waitress if you haven’t seen that little gem, but my favorite movie with him is, of course, Serenity. He, and Susan Sullivan, make Castle worth watching. I suspect that series will get better with time if they can figure out a way around the romantic buildup which, once it culminates in sex, usually means the death of a screwball comedy police/detective/mystery series.

Takeaway Truth

Sly and the Family Stone said it best: “Different strokes for different folks.”
