Bring Back THE UNIT
My entire family was dismayed that CBS canceledĀ The Unit, one of the best shows on TV. Well-written, well-acted, and reflective of the bravery of the men and women who are unsung heroes. Starring the amazing Dennis Haysbert as Team Leader Jonas Blaine, we followed their exploits through 3 seasons where the show was jerked around from one spot to another before finally ending up after Sunday night football. We never knew when it would start so we had to play with the DVR recording time in order to get it all.
When they canceled it, I felt like telling the head idiot of CBS programming who was responsible for the decision what I thought. The only thing that stopped me was that I didn’t know who that might be or what his or her phone number or personal email address was. I had to content myself with posting irate messages on forums with other like-minded people.
I was delighted to see it pop up on the Houston Channel 20 KTXH, a MyNetworkTV station owned by Fox. I would be thrilled if a cable channel with some intelligence – maybe USA or TNT – would take it on. Both have quality and intelligent programming usually unseen on network TV where asinine reality shows that celebrate the worst of humanity rule the airwaves.
Takeaway Truth
Why do intelligent, entertaining shows get canceled and crap remains on ad infinitum ad nauseum?

I couldn’t agree with you more. I have signed petitions and left comments. You would think that if CBS really cared about what its viewers watched, it would bring back this show. It doesn’t make any sense that it was cut. CBS, redeem yourselves and bring this show back!!!
Hello, cara. It seems that such a great series could find a home on a network that would appreciate it. Bottom LIne? I guess CBS doesn’t care as long as they can rake in bucks from mediocre reality shows. Most people with a brain seem to abhor the vast majority of those shows which could all be re-titled PEOPLE BEHAVING BADLY.
Best regards,
