Girlfriends, Pack Your Bags

I’m a Rachel Ray fan, and I have been long before she had a talk show because she just seems like the kind of woman you’d want for a friend. No wonder she’s got such a great sweepstakes going on. I’m talking about the comfort inn girlfriend getaway that started July 14.

Girlfriend, Take Action

Before Rachel Ray had her own talk show, she dazzled everyone with her 30 Minute Meals. Though she looked way too young back then to know much about cooking, she made a believer out of me and millions of others. I can’t think of any better way to vacation with girlfriends than to visit the set of her new show. The two grand shopping spree isn’t bad either.

Grand Prize

That’s right. The winner of the Girlfriend Getaway Sweepstakes and three of her friends will receive a trip to New York with airfare, hotel accommodations for 3 days and 2 nights, tickets to the Rachel Ray Show, tote bags filled with personal care items, and $2,000 to go shopping in the Big Apple. Doesn’t that just make you smile with anticipation?

Don’t Wait

There’s no purchase necessary to enter, but don’t hesitate. August 27, 2009, is the deadline. You have to use the online entry form so just click on the link and follow the trail to the Sweepstakes Website. Then just follow the instructions. Quick! Email or call your girlfriends. Enter today. There’s going to be a Grand Prize winner, and it might be you or one of your friends.

Takeaway Truth

To paraphrase the Bard: “A friend is one that knows you as you are, understands where you have been, accepts what you have become, and still, gently allows you to grow.” I like a sweepstakes that honors such a noble part of life.

My Girlfriends of 60 years…they will bring casseroles & scrub your bathroom when you need help–keep your children and keep your secrets–give advice when you ask for it–don’t always tell you that you’re right, but they’re usually honest–still love you, even when they don’t agree with your choices–laugh with you–pull you out of a difficult situation–they are there for you, in an instant and when the hard times come–listen when you lose a job or friend. My mother always said no matter how much you love your husband, you are still going to need girlfriends!
