Not Your Parent’s TV

Television viewing has changed a lot in recent years. It’s certainly not your dad’s TV, or your mom’s, any more. With the advent of satellite television, not to mention HD programming, the TV world is uncharted territory just waiting to be conquered. That is, if you have Direct TV.

Cable Is Old School

Last week a cable repairman had to come into our back yard to cut someone’s cable service. My husband showed him where the pedestal was located in the utility easement. As the cable man worked, he chatted with my husband. He said our neighbor had made the switch to satellite. Then he laughed and admitted that he too had satellite TV and that he would never go back to cable.

That seems to be the shared experience of everyone who has switched from cable to DirecTV. We all embrace the perfect picture, the large number of HD programs offered, and the eclectic programming choices.

Do Your Research

Check out DirectTV. They’ve got over 130 of the best HD channels and some great signup specials. Oh, be sure and get a DVR. I simply adore my DVR which allows me to view a program over and over. Since I write a lot of reviews about television programs from a writer’s viewpoint, this helps me keep details of the show readily available. (Look for a review on the BSG finale this week.)

Takeaway Truth

Embrace the technology that’s changing the face of television entertainment.
